Parker County Intercessors

Christian prayer ministry · Weatherford, TexasPrayer for your heart, healing for your body, blessing for your home.

A Christian ministry of prayer that comes to you. We pray with neighbors across Parker County in homes, hospital rooms, kitchens, and front porches, trusting that the Lord hears and answers.

The ministry

Four ways we pray with you

Every visit is centered on Jesus Christ and on Scripture. Nothing here is a performance or a formula. It is ordinary believers bringing your needs before God.

Prayer

For grief, worry, marriages, prodigal children, job loss, hard decisions, or simple thanksgiving. We pray with you in person, by phone, or on your behalf.

How prayer works

Healing prayer

Laying on of hands and anointing with oil for the sick, as the elders did in James 5. For illness, injury, recovery from surgery, and emotional wounds.

About healing prayer

Home blessing

We walk through your house room by room, reading Scripture and dedicating it to the Lord. For a new home, a new baby, a fresh start, or a house that needs peace.

What a blessing includes

The sinner’s prayer

If you are ready to turn from sin and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we would be honored to pray it with you.

Pray it with us

Prayer

Bring it all to Him

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”Philippians 4:6

You do not need to have the right words or belong to a particular church. Tell us what is on your heart and we will pray with you.

Ways to receive prayer

  • In person at your home, a coffee shop, or a hospital or care facility in Parker County.
  • By phone if you are homebound, far from family, or would rather talk privately.
  • On your behalf if you simply want someone standing with you in prayer this week.
Your request stays private. We do not share names or details with anyone unless you ask us to.

Healing prayer

Anointing and the laying on of hands

“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”James 5:14–16 ESV

“Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed—and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes.”Acts 3:16 NLT

We believe God still heals today and have witnessed many healings firsthand. God’s healing happens every day, and He can heal you as well. Sometimes He heals through doctors and with time. God heals on His time, not ours. We come humbly, ask boldly, and leave the outcome in His hands.

What happens during a visit

We begin by listening. We read a short passage of Scripture, then, with your permission, place a hand on your shoulder and anoint your forehead with a small touch of olive oil. We will begin praying for forgiveness and then go into prayer for healing of body, mind, and spirit. Most visits last 20 to 40 minutes.

Please keep your doctors. Confirm the healing with your doctors before taking any further actions. Healing prayers can often go alongside medical care. Until told by your doctor, keep taking prescribed medicine and following your doctor’s advice. In an emergency, call 911.

Home blessing

Dedicate your house to the Lord

“But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”Joshua 24:15

A good fit for a newly bought or built home, a move to a new rental, a baby’s arrival, a recent loss, or any season when a household wants a fresh start. Blessings of barns, shops, and small businesses are welcome too.

A home blessing takes about an hour. Everyone in the household is invited to walk along and read or pray.

  1. Gathering at the front doorWe open with prayer and read Joshua 24:15 at the threshold.
  2. Anointing the doorways and room by roomWe mark each doorway with a small cross of oil, asking the Lord to guard every coming in and going out (Psalm 121:8). In each room we pray over it in a way that fits its purpose: the kitchen, bedrooms, the children’s rooms, the living area, the work space.
  3. Prayer for the householdWe pray over each person by name, along with any burdens the family wants to share.
  4. Closing blessingWe finish together with the priestly blessing of Numbers 6:24–26.

Questions

Questions about prayer, healing, and home blessings

Do I need to belong to a church?

No. We pray with anyone who asks, whether you have been in church your whole life or have never set foot in one.

Is there a cost?

No. Prayer, healing prayer, and home blessings are offered freely as a ministry. No one will ask you for money.

What denomination are you?

We are Christians who hold to the Holy Bible and are structured around the Trinitarian faith in God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We pray alongside believers from every church in Parker County.

Can you visit a hospital or nursing home?

Yes. Let us know the facility and room, and we will follow its visiting rules.

What if healing doesn’t come?

We do not promise outcomes. God is good and present even when the answer is “not yet.” We will keep praying with you and walking alongside you.
